December 26 – Station 18 Fire was requested into Raritan Township, 12 Quail Ridge Dr for a report of fire in a residence. Station 18 was on the initial alarm for RIT. Squad 18 and Chief 18 responded in and established RIT. Squad 18 was then pressed into service to lay a 5″ LDH supply line from the scene back to the intersection of Klinesville and Quail Ridge to establish a fill site for tenders. Command requested a response from the South and North County Tender Task Force which added Engine 18 to the assignment. Engine 18 responded in to shuttle water (2000 gallons on the Engine) from the fill site on Gauntt Place to the dump site.
May 15 – Staion 18 was requested were requested into the Town of Clinton, 23 West Main Street for a reported commercial structure fire. Station 18 responded with Chief 18, Ladder 18, Engine 18, and Squad 18. The fire building was a historic building formerly known as the Clinton Music Hall, at the time of the fire the building was a multi-tenant commercial property housing several business. Multiple agencies were called into to assist including 45 Fire (Town of Clinton), 46 Fire (Annandale), 14 Fire (High Bridge), 91 Fire (Quackertown), 21 Fire (Raritan Township) and 44 Fire (Califon) for RIT, as well as 2 tender strike teams. Engine 18 established water supply drafting from the river by the former Fine Diner, while Squad 18 was sent to the river behind Fox Lumber to supply a second water source. Ladder 18 was initially positioned on the east side of the former Agway building (#20 East Main) but was moved to the front to gain better access.
February 11 – Engine 18 responded to the request for service into Hillsborough, Somerset County at the scene of a large commercial warehouse fire. Station 18 had taken delivery of the new Engine 18 in November and placed the apparatus into service in December of 2015. Engine 18 responded in to serve as a Tender (Engine 18 carries 2000 gallons of water) and remained on scene through multiple shifts.
Tender 18 operating at a commercial structure fire in North Brunswick, NJ at 1600 Livingston Ave. The state mutual response included 167 fire companies from 13 NJ counties. In total 960 firefighters, 237 pieces of apparatus responded to North Brunswick’s call for service. Tender 18 operated multiple shifts at this fire including a 10 hour shift during which it made 24 drops.
2014 and older
18 Fire and 46 Fire operating at a residential structure fire on Route 22 in Clinton Township. Responding agencies included Station 18 Fire, 46 Fire, and 21 Fire (R.I.T). Initial dispatch reported possible entrapment of occupants. The residents were able to escape via a second floor window and were uninjured.
