The sensational Virat Kohli struck his third century of the 2023 World Cup off 106 balls, which consisted of eight fours and a six.
In a way, the Virat Kohli’s record breaking century was even more memorable because it came at the home of the Legend in Mumbai, where the player used to play his formative years.

Kohli, who is participating in his fourth World Cup, also hit his first-ever century in the knockout round. In the process of reaching his century, Virat Kohli surpasses Sachin Tendulkar’s record of 673 runs scored in a single World Cup.
In the process of his performance, Kohli also surpasses Australian icon Ricky Ponting (13,704) to rank third in the format’s run scorers, behind only Sachin (18,426) and Kumar Sangakkara of Sri Lanka (14,234). With over 700 runs at an average of over 100, Kohli is presently the World Cup 2023’s leading run scorer.
This is now Virat’s third century in this tournament after his 103 against Bangladesh and 101 against South Africa.
